Event Description

Paul Porter of Industry Ears joins us again on Black Talk Radio News, Views and Music.

Industry Ears is "A New Generation Think Tank Dedicated To Promoting Justice In Media".

Paul recently wrote a satirical blog titled "Who’s Driving That Black Radio Slave Ship?" in which he writes in his "Southern Slave Voice":

"I’ssa been telling y’all for some quite sometime about those black radio slave ships loading up off the shores of Urban radio stations. Year after year, the ships have been taking some of the world’s best communicators out to sea. One by one they have been picking up just about everybody in black radio. Slowly but surely that boat been coming back, playing that terrible music, dumbing down our children. Problem is that no one has been speaking up.......

No one that is except for Industry Ears.

We will also ask Paul about the Obama administrations recommendations to Congress that they address enforcement of intellectual property rights and specifically forcing terrestrial radio stations to pay musicians and artists royalties for the music radio stations play. Currently only the song writers are paid by terrestrial radio station.

Paul has written about this issue before and exposed Cathy Hughes campaign to misinform the public about the issue. Interestingly, Mrs. Hughes who owns the largest Black radio conglomeration in the U.S. was on an Internet Radio show yesterday where this issue was raised with her.

Join us on Black Talk Radio News, Views & Music tonight for an in-depth discussion with Paul Porter.
